In ChangeGPS FBT, what is the Reportable Fringe Benefits Amount (RFBA) and when does it apply?

RFBA in ChangeGPS FBT: reportable fringe benefits threshold and employee impacts

The Reportable Fringe Benefits Amount (RFBA) is an amount that employers must report on an employee's payment summary (or income statement) when the total grossed-up taxable value of fringe benefits provided to that employee exceeds $2,000 for the FBT year. The RFBA is not additional tax — it is a disclosure amount that affects the employee's income-tested obligations such as the Medicare Levy Surcharge, HECS-HELP repayments, and family tax benefit assessments. ChangeGPS FBT calculates the RFBA automatically for each employee based on the benefits entered across all benefit category tabs. The RFBA per employee is displayed in the Step 4 preview and included in the generated FBT return documentation.
