Blueprint Overview

Overview of Blueprint, including creating visual business structure diagrams and exporting client-ready PDFs

Blueprint is a ChangeGPS app that enables accountants to create visual diagrams of client business structures. Using a drag-and-drop canvas, you place entity nodes (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs) and draw the relationships between them to produce a clear, professional map of the client's structure. Blueprints can be overlaid with Tax, Wealth, Risk, and Asset views to communicate different aspects of the structure, and exported as a PDF containing the diagram, asset and liability summary, and structure details.

Blueprint is available in Australia.

What Blueprint does

  • Blueprint creates a visual diagram of a client's business structure by placing entity nodes on a canvas and connecting them with relationship lines.

  • The app supports five entity types — Individual, Company, Trust, Partnership, and SMSF — each displayed in a distinct colour for instant recognition.

  • Four overlay views — Tax, Wealth, Risk, and Asset — can be applied to the same diagram to communicate different perspectives to clients or partners.

  • Blueprint records assets and liabilities against entities, with a global assets and liabilities panel showing totals across the structure.

  • Completed blueprints are exported as a multi-page PDF including the structure diagram, an assets and liabilities page, and a structure details page.

  • CIM client import pre-populates entities from the client's existing ChangeGPS record.

Who should use Blueprint

Blueprint is designed for accountants and business advisors who want to visually communicate a client's business structure — particularly in onboarding meetings, business advisory engagements, estate planning discussions, and restructuring advice. It is useful for any client with more than one entity in their structure where the relationships between entities need to be explained clearly.

Key features

  • Drag-and-drop canvas — Powered by ReactFlow, the canvas allows entities to be placed freely and connected with relationship edges.

  • Five entity types — Individual (green), Partnership (yellow), Company (red), Trust (blue), and SMSF (purple), each with a distinct icon and colour.

  • Auto-arrange — Automatically arranges entities on the canvas in a logical layout with a single click.

  • Shape key — A toggleable legend showing the colour coding for each entity type.

  • Grid — A toggleable background grid for precise entity placement.

  • Four overlays — Tax and Wealth overlays on the left of the canvas; Risk and Asset overlays on the right. Overlay watermarks communicate the diagram's context at a glance.

  • Entity properties panel — Edit entity name, type, and details by selecting any node.

  • Assets and liabilities — Record assets and liabilities per entity, with a global panel showing totals.

  • Structure details — Record additional structure context and notes.

  • CIM import — Import client entities directly from CIM to pre-populate the canvas.

  • Auto-save — The blueprint is saved automatically as you work.

  • PDF export — Export a professional multi-page PDF: diagram page, assets and liabilities page, and structure details page.

How Blueprint fits into ChangeGPS

Blueprint is a standalone visualisation and communication tool. The diagrams it produces complement the advisory work done in Tax Plan, Division 7A, and Section 100A by providing a clear visual reference for the client's structure that can be shared in meetings.

Getting started

  1. Navigate to Blueprint from the ChangeGPS dashboard.

  2. Select New Blueprint and give it a name.

  3. Use the left toolbar to add entities — select an entity type and it appears on the canvas.

  4. Drag entities into position and draw relationship lines between them.

  5. Add assets and liabilities using the panels on the right.

  6. Select an overlay if needed (Tax, Wealth, Risk, or Asset).

  7. Select Export in the header bar to generate the PDF.
