What are merge fields and how do I use them in ChangeGPS Letters Merge?

Overview of merge fields in Letters Merge, including how to insert and use them to populate client and practice data

Merge fields in ChangeGPS Letters Merge are placeholders that are automatically replaced with real client or practice data when you generate the letter. There are over 86 merge fields available, covering client details (name, address, ABN, ACN, tax file number), entity information, financial year, dates, practice details (firm name, address, signatory), and more. To insert a merge field, place your cursor in the rich text editor where you want the data to appear and select the field from the merge field picker. The field appears as a highlighted placeholder — for example, {{ClientName}} — in the editor. When the letter is exported or previewed, all merge fields are replaced with the actual values from the client record. Using merge fields instead of typing client details directly ensures accuracy and consistency across all letters.
