EngageAML and AUSTRAC registration — what you need to know
Signing up to EngageAML does not automatically register your firm with the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC). AUSTRAC registration is a separate process that must be completed independently through AUSTRAC's own portal.
What EngageAML sign-up does
When you sign up to EngageAML, you are creating an account within the EngageAML platform. This gives you access to EngageAML's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance tools and workflows. It does not constitute registration with AUSTRAC, and it has no connection to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) portal.
How to register with AUSTRAC
To complete your AUSTRAC registration, you must do so directly through AUSTRAC. EngageAML sign-up does not initiate, complete, or substitute for this requirement. Visit the AUSTRAC website for more information on how to complete this: https://www.austrac.gov.au.
Common points of confusion
Does EngageAML sign-up register my firm with AUSTRAC?
No. Signing up to EngageAML creates your EngageAML account only. Your firm still needs to register with AUSTRAC separately through AUSTRAC's portal.
