Edit a service offered in EngageAML

How to edit a service item your firm offers, used to populate EngageAML engagement letters.

EngageAML lets you edit the service items your firm offers, which are the templates used to populate engagement letters. This article walks you through editing a service in EngageAML.

Before you begin

  • You need to be listed as a CGPS v2 Administrator in Evo Organisation Settings. For instructions on setting this up, see Evo activation and setup.

  • Know which service you want to update and what needs to change, since edits to a service item affect every future engagement letter that includes it.

Step-by-step guide

To edit a service in EngageAML:

  1. Open ChangeGPS Company Settings and go to App Settings.

  2. Expand Engage Settings and select Service Items under Additional Configuration.

  3. Find the service you want to update, using the search bar or the Active, Inactive, or All filters if needed.

  4. Select the edit (pencil) icon next to the service.

  5. Update the Service Name, Description, fee amounts, Compliance Classification, Category, or Applicable Entity Types as needed.

  6. Select Update Service Item to save your changes.

Tips and best practices

  • Editing one of the default service templates creates a customised version for your firm. You can reset it back to the default template later if needed.

  • Review the Compliance Classification whenever you update a service's scope, since changes here affect whether the service is treated as an AUSTRAC (Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre) designated service or a TASA (Tax Agent Services Act) tax agent service.

  • Turn a service's Active toggle off instead of deleting it if you want to stop offering it in new engagement letters while keeping it on record for existing ones.

Common issues

If you can't find the service you're looking for, check the Inactive or All filter in the Service Item Editor, since inactive services are hidden from the default Active view.

If your changes don't seem to apply to an engagement letter, confirm you edited the correct service item, since a firm may have both a default and a customised version of a similarly named service.
