How does the automatic sync work in Client Import Manager?

Overview of CIM data synchronisation, including background sync, automatic updates, and connection status monitoring.

ChangeGPS Client Import Manager (CIM) synchronises client data from your connected practice management system in the background using scheduled jobs. After the initial import completes, CIM periodically checks for changes in your practice management system and updates the ChangeGPS client database to match. This means that when a client's address, ABN, or contact details change in Xero PM (XPM) or ADE, those changes flow through to ChangeGPS automatically without manual re-import. The last sync time and current connection status are visible in Admin Settings → Integrations. If a sync fails — for example, because an OAuth token has expired — the status page shows an error message with guidance on how to resolve it.
