When ChangeGPS Client Import Manager runs a sync, it updates existing client records with any changes from the practice management system rather than creating new duplicates. The deduplication logic matches clients by name, ABN, and other identifying fields. If a client already exists in ChangeGPS from a previous import, their record is updated rather than duplicated. If you have manually edited a client's details in ChangeGPS after the last sync, those manual edits may be overwritten by the next sync if the source data has also changed. For this reason, it is recommended to maintain client data in your practice management system as the primary source of truth rather than editing it directly in ChangeGPS.
