EngageAML lets you create new service items so you can add services to the Service Item Editor that don't already exist in the default list. This article walks you through creating a new service in Company Settings for use in EngageAML.
Before you begin
You need to be listed as a CGPS v2 Administrator in Evo Organisation Settings. For instructions on setting this up, see Evo activation and setup.
Know the service name, fee structure, and compliance classification you want to set before you start, since these determine how the service appears in engagement letters and whether it triggers AML/CTF (Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing) or TASA (Tax Agent Services Act) obligations.
Step-by-step guide
To create a new service in EngageAML:
Open ChangeGPS Company Settings and go to App Settings.
Expand Engage Settings and select Service Items under Additional Configuration.
Select Create New in the Service Item Editor.
Enter a Service Name for the new service.
Add a Description for the service. Use Insert Merge Field to personalize the description with client details, which the backend replaces automatically when the engagement letter generates.
Enter at least one fee amount in Upfront Fee, Monthly Fee, Interim Fee, or On Completion Fee. At least one fee type must be specified.
Set the Compliance Classification for the service. Turn on AUSTRAC Designated Service if the service is designated under AUSTRAC Tranche 2 AML/CTF obligations, and turn on TASA Tax Agent Service if the service is classified as a tax agent service under TASA 2009 (entering a TASA Reason to record why).
Select a Category for the service, such as Tax & Compliance, Bookkeeping, SMSF Services, Corporate Services, Advisory, Estate Planning, or Specialised Services.
Select the Applicable Entity Types the service applies to, such as Individual, Company, Partnership, Trust, SMSF, or Not-For-Profit.
Select Create Service Item to save the new service.
Tips and best practices
Set the Active toggle off only for services you want hidden from the Engage wizard while still keeping them on record. Active is turned on by default for new services.
Correctly classifying a service as an AUSTRAC designated service or a TASA tax agent service at creation avoids having to reclassify it later once it's already attached to client engagements.
Choosing a specific category makes the service easier to find in the Service Item Editor as your service list grows.
Common issues
If Create Service Item doesn't activate, check that you've entered a service name and at least one fee amount, since both are required before the service can be saved.
If you're not sure whether a new service needs to be classified as an AUSTRAC designated service or a TASA tax agent service, check your firm's AUSTRAC Policy settings or speak with your compliance officer before saving.
